Picture yourself climbing up a wall of ice. As you reach the top, crisp wind hits your face, and you peer out onto a vast icy landscape with huge glacier mountains. The physical challenge combined with awe-inspiring nature makes ice climbing on the Svínafellsjökull Glacier an unforgettable experience. Intrigued? Join me for a day of ice climbing in one of the most beautiful spots in the world.
This program gives you the great opportunity to climb up glacier ice in Skaftafell National Park. Besides, beautiful landscape and favorable weather makes Skaftafell National Park the perfect place to explore Icelandic nature. The park, which encompasses Svínafellsjökull Glacier, offers an icy playground of rock and ice formations of different shapes and sizes.
Furthermore, this trip is suitable for participants of all different abilities. If you have never held an ice axe before, no problem. If you are an experienced ice climber, you will also find new challenges in the park. I provide all the ice climbing gear and safety equipment, so you only need to bring your own warm clothing, rain gear, and lunch.
Take a chance, and let the Svínafellsjökull Glacier amaze you. The trip leaves everyday June 1st to August 31st at 9 am from our meeting spot near the Skaftafell National Park Visitors Center. It lasts about 5 hours, during which we will spend 3-4 hours out on the ice.
I hope you’re excited about ice climbing on Svínafellsjökull. I know it will be a great trip! Contact me if you have any questions or want to book a trip.
