Highlights

  • Reach the summit of Mönch and descend paragliding to Interlaken!

  • Spend the night at the Rottal Hut (2755m)

  • Climb via the Nollen route, through the steep side of the peak

Nestled between the Eiger and the Jungfrau is the Mönch (4107m), with its imposing north face, which is crossed by various mixed routes. From difficult to extremely difficult climbs you will find everything in this wall. It is an ideal playground for those who enjoy mixed terrain.

We will take you on a 2-day ascent to the Mönch summit, via the famous Nollen route to the summit, starting in Grindelwald and back to Interlaken. It is a true classic for those who want to approach the supreme discipline of mountaineering via the north face, the steeper side of the peak. Once you reach the top, a paragliding flight takes you back to Interlaken.

While on the south side masses of people climb via the normal route to the summit of Mönch, it is relatively quiet on the north side. In order to avoid the crowds when descending from the summit, we choose not the normal route, but the faster, more direct variant of paragliding into the valley.

The tour is suitable for experienced solo pilots as well as ambitious mountaineers who would like to experience a tandem flight from the Mönch summit.

Starting from Grindelwald, our adventure begins as we hike up into the mountains. We will stay overnight on the first day at the Guggi Hut, from where we will enjoy breathtaking views. We will climb about 700 meters on the first day, for about 2 ½ to 3 hours.

On the second day, we start climbing vie the Nollen route after breakfast at the hut. Once we reach the Mönch plateau, we start climbing mostly on ice and snow terrain. We continue on the steep NW flank to the West ridge and shortly along it, until we reach the summit of the Mönch (4107m). The ascent will take us about 6 to 8 hours in total.

Once at the summit, you will enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of all the surrounding mountains, before a paragliding flight takes you back to Interlaken! You can check the detailed itinerary below.

Don’t hesitate to contact us if you want to join us on this 2-day Mönch ascent! Book your trip and get ready for an amazing mountaineering experience.
