Mount Damavand (5609m) is the highest point in the Middle East and is located near the capital city of Tehran.

On this 6-day trek, you will have the opportunity to both hike and sight-see in Iran.  After dipping your toes into Iranian culture, our local guide will take you for an acclimatizing hike in Polour. Then, from there, you will begin your trek over a course of few days to summit the incredible Mount Damavand–the tallest volcano in Asia!

Itinerary

 
  • Day 1Arrive in Tehran

    Arrive in Tehran and sight-see. Overnight in a local guesthouse.

  • Day 2Polour

    We will climb starting at 3400m and finished at 4100m on a nice peak. From there, we will go to Polour. Overnight in the mountain lodge (2200m).

  • Day 3Trek begins

    We will go to our base camp by  car (one hour) early in the morning. Our 4-5 hour trek begins from base camp at 3040m and will take us up to the advanced camp (Bargah-e Sevvom) at 4200m.

  • Day 4Acclimatization day

    After a restful sleep and a relaxed breakfast, the team will climb 400-600m for acclimatization. We will return to camp later that day.

  • Day 5Summit Day

    Our team will leave early in the morning for the summit. The trek will take between 6-8 hours depending on the pace. Overnight stay at the advanced camp.

  • Day 6Return to basecamp

    Our team will return back down to the basecamp (3 hours). We will then enjoy a trip to a hot spring. Overnight in the mountain lodge(2200m).
