Experience one of the best cycling trails in New Zealand
Cross the longest suspension bridge with a cycleway in New Zealand
Enjoy spectacular scenery of ancient forest
The Timber Trail is the ultimate cycle trail in New Zealand. With crossings over awesome suspension bridges, beautiful waterfalls, and lush forestry, this is an experience you’ll remember for a long time.
The Timber Trail runs along old logging tramways in the native Pureora Forest Park in the North Island. The trail is around 85 km and we’ll tackle this over two days. On the way, you’ll even pass through one of the longest suspension bridges that can be cycled over in the country.
Your guide will be able to teach you about the history of the area and you’ll learn lots about the different and in some places ancient, flora and fauna.
Depending on the weather you could face some pretty muddy stretches and this trail is recommended for intermediate cyclists. We’ll also go pretty high (around 900 metres at one point), so you’ll need to bring warm clothing with you.
You’ll stay one night in local accommodation in a nearby town and get to enjoy some good kiwi hospitality.
You do not want to leave New Zealand without having experienced this trip, so book now to secure your spot.
