Welcome to a mountaineering experience in one of the World Heritage Sites: The Olympic National Park . It will be a 5-day hike across 77 km of temperate rainforest, old growth trees and naturally flowing rivers. And as if is not enough, you will reach to the largest glacier in the Olympics, before testing your rock climbing abilities on the last few kilometers.
As an expedition of intermediate level, the ideal participant is one who has previous experience and mountaineering knowledge. But, I have an special invitation: you can bring your family along! I propose the first 3 days of just backpacking to get to the Blue Glacier. That means your family could join you during this hiking portion.
Olympic National Park is also renowned for the diversity of its ecosystems. Glacier-clad peaks are interspersed with extensive alpine meadows. The surroundings of extensive old growth forest are the best example of intact and protected temperate rainforest in the Pacific Northwest. All those features will make this trip a dream come true for any mountaineer.
