Nevado Ranrapalca means “rock branch shaped” in Quechua language. Come with me and discover more mysteries of this mountain.
Nevado Ranrapalca is located in Huaraz, a great Peruvian city. And we’ll try to get to its summit across its normal route, on the northeastern slope of the mountain.
I know you’ll love this guided trip to Nevado Ranrapalca. That’s why I’ve prepared the following itinerary:
We drive from Huaraz to Cochapamapa. There, we put our luggage up of the donkeys and start to hike via the Quenuales forest. After 4 hours we’ll be at our base camp.
Today we trek across the Ishinca Glacier route up to the col. It is a pass in the middle Ranrapalca and Ishinca glaciers. We set up camp at 5.000 meters high.
We leave the camp behind at 1 A.M. The first section will be a bit hard and we must climb a 240-meter wall. Once in the top of Nevado Ranrapalca, we’ll enjoy a perfect view. Then, return to the campsite.
Today awaits an easy trek to Cochapampa. From there, we will drive back to Huaraz. End of the program.
Please, feel free to ask me any question you have. Let’s do this trekking together. I will be waiting your contact!!!
