Join me in a 2-day climbing in a beautiful summit in Cordillera Blanca, more precisely in Nevado Yanapaccha!
Nevado Yanapaccha is located in the Huandoy Massif and Huascaran National Park. Its quechua name means “waterfall in a black mountain”. It has 5460 meters of altitude and is an ideal place for practicing climbing skills.
The first day, we’ll meet the group in Huaraz. From there we continue to Huaylas. Afterwards, we go through Llanganuco Valley where we can appreciate the twin lakes: Chicacocha and Orconcocha. Our hike will start once we reach Kilometer 42. We spend the night in Campo Morrena.
The second day begin early in the morning. We’ll climb Nevado Yanapaccha and from the top we’ll get some incredible views of glaciers such as Huascaran, Chopicalqui, Pisco.
Finally, we descend via a ridge while we can enjoy views of the Chacraraju summit. Once we arrive to Camp, a vehicle will be waiting to take us back to Huaraz.
This climb has moderate difficulty, so climbers must have some prior experience and a good physical condition.
