Highlights

I want to invite you to an amazing 1-day hike to Paron Lake, the largest lake of the Cordillera Blanca! Besides, it is the most important fresh water reservoir of the Huaylas Alley. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985.

The beautiful Paron Lake (4180 m) is located 100 kilometres north of the city of Huaraz. It has an estimated content of 55 million cubic meters. Also, it has a maximum of 76 meters depth from the water mirror to the bottom.

The lake is at the foot of the summits of Huandoy, Artezon Raju, Chacraraju, Aguja and Caraz. All of their snow and ice feed on the crystal water of the lake.

From the city of Huaraz we will travel to Caraz. Then, we have 32 kilometres to Paron Lake.  It will be a great hiking day! We will be able to take great panoramic pictures of the most spectacular mountains of the region. Most important, we will enjoy all the beauty of the Peruvian Andes.

Also, I think it is a perfect acclimatization day trek, if you want to get ready for a more challenging trek in the region.

Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about this trek to Paron Lake in Peru! I will be happy to guide you up there. I also offer another 1-day great trek to Llanganuco Lakes. Check it out!
