The Peneda-Geres National Park is located in the Northwest of Portugal, close to the border with Spain, and is the only national park in the country. There is massive biodiversity within the park, with countless animals and plant species to be found, and it is increasingly one of the most popular tourist destinations in Portugal.

We meet on the first day in the city of Porto, and from there we transfer to our hotel where we’ll be staying for the week.

Every morning we then head out for a different activity and region of the park, with the first 3 days entailing a lovely walk through quaint villages and fields, canoeing through mesmerizing waterways, and jeep riding through a stunning array of landscapes and terrains. We then have a day-off to explore the dramatic city of Braga, with a history stretching back to Ancient Rome.

The last few days are spent horse riding through the glorious mountainous region, and a final walk through the magnificent Mata da Albergaria, the parks richest area of trees and vegetation, and also a great spot to have swim in some of the gorgeous waterways around.

We finish the trip by heading back to Porto, happy that we have discovered some of the most fantastic scenery in Europe, and that we were able to have fun with the variety of activities with which we explored.
