Description

The route from Portalet to Peyreget peak (2,483m) is one of the best areas for ski touring in the Pyrenees. This is your chance to try an awesome powder adventure under expert guidance. Join me!

The Pyrenees mountain range forms a natural border between Spain and France. This chain of mountains extends for around 490km from the Bay of Biscay to the Mediterranean Sea. Great deep-blue lakes and amazing high passes, gaves, cirques and waterfalls make up the stunning landscape of this region.

This ski touring day trip starts in Portalet, a mountain pass (1,794m) which connects the Ossau and Tena valleys. It is is accessed from the ski resort of Formigal and offers stunning untracked terrain for skiing!

The circular route to Peyreget requires some powder skiing experience and a good fitness level. However, you will be highly rewarded, while skiing on top-quality snow we will enjoy breathtaking views of the Midi d’ossau, Balaitous and other beautiful mountains nearby!

So, if you are up for an unforgettable ski touring day tour in the Pyrenees, please contact me. Let’s explore the Portalet route and try its awesome powder snow!

Mountain Leader

AEGM-UIMLA Guide from Spain

I did my first steps as a mountaineer as a teenager in Madrid. But the desire to enjoy all the possibilities given by the mountains convinced me to move to Benasque valley, at the heart of the Pyrenees.

Along the years I did several winter and summer activities not only in the Pyrenees, but also in Picos de Europa, Sierra Nevada, Sistema Central...

One of my passions is to travel and discover new places and cultures, so I did climbing trips to other European countries, USA, Canada, Morocco, India, Nepal, Kirguistán... This trips gave me a priceless experience that made me grow as a climber, and set the stone to my formation as professional mountain guide.

I now live in Cantabria, and usually guide both in summer and winter in the Cantabrian range.

My guide, Fran, was top-notch. Super friendly and really knew his stuff. He was fantastic at tailoring our climb based on my expectations and what I could handle and - he nailed it. Also, he communicated in English really well. On the second day we chatted away like old friends. I had an awesome time and would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a personalised climbing experience.
