Are you ready to live a wild winter? Let Polar Heliski Camp enchant you with its quietness, long days and full blank landscapes.
This Polar Heliski is the perfect program if you’re looking for a unique experience by the time that winter ends. There are many advantages when choosing this trip:
- A Heliski area of more than 3000 square kilometers with no restrictions;
- Easy access from central Europe;
- Cosy lodge with the helipad in front;
- Skiing in small and exclusive groups of max. 5 clients per guide and a maximum of 15 clients per week;
- Incredible landscapes and ski runs.
Our Heliski area is located 300 km north from the polar circle in the Kebnekaise, the highest peak of Sweden. Our base will be the Kebnekaise Fjäll station, a cosy and warm place in the middle of nowhere.
During our skiing you will mostly find high alpine terrains and glaciated mountains. The maximum height that we will reach is 2108 meters and the lowest 500 meters. Take into account that these runs have an average vertical drop of around 1000 meters.
In addition, you will also have the experience of traveling by snowmobiles and helicopter during our trip. When we first overfly the region by helicopter you will get the notion of the huge white area that we have for free skiing.
For this trip you must have experience on high alpine skiing as well as some backcountry skiing skills. You will also need to be fit enough to face extreme weather conditions. Finally, everybody must bring their own skis. There is no possibility of renting them locally. I will provide you with the safety and avalanche equipment.
So, if you think that this trip will be good for you then do not doubt it anymore and contact me to be part of this experience!
Get to Kebnekaise Fjällstation
We will fly from Central Europe to Kiruna. With Minibuses we will reach the end of the road at Nikkaluokta within 1 hour. Then we will load our luggage on snowmobiles and trailers. A bumpy trial brings us to our home for the next days, the Kebnekaise Fjäll station. Our helicopter will be parked right in front of the lodge. Once in there, we’ll enjoy a nice candle light dinner, while we have a talk about the program of the week.
|Day 2 to 6|
Next morning our pilot Mats will start up the helicopter, just a few minutes later we will reach the first mountain top. What now counts is just the skiing in this vast and almost endless terrain. The next 6 days will be just yours to enjoy some great skiing in this amazing area. By the time the sun sets lower in the late afternoon, we ski back to the lodge via the spectacular run of “Jokulbakken”. Back at the lodge, coffee and freshly made pastries are waiting for you, while the sauna is already pre heated.
Night at Kiruna and end of the program
After six amazing days it is time for us to say good bye. By snowmobile we will head back to Nikkaluokta and then to Kiruna, where we will spend the last night in Hotel Kebne. The next morning we fly back to our home destination.
