Description

The Pyrenees are a magnificent mountain range in the Huesca region of Spain. Reach the summit of three of its most incredible peaks: Pico Posets (3,375 m), Monte Perdido (3,355 m) and Perdiguero (3,222 m).

This 6-day, physically demanding program is designed for true adventurers who wish to experience intense emotions, while reaching these 3 fantastic summits.

Posets is the second highest peak in the Pyrenees. On the first day, we’ll begin our ascent from the town of Eristre (1,100 m). Alternatively, we can depart from the parking lot at Espigantosa (1,550 m). On the second day, we’ll stand atop the summit and enjoy dazzling views of the area, including Gran Bachimala, Perdiguero, Aneto and Maladeta. The descent will take around 8 hours.

Monte Perdido is the tallest summit in the Pyrenees and the most famous one in Ordesa. Taking advantage of the bus service departing from Nerin during the summer, we’ll climb Monte Perdido in just one day. After riding the bus, we’ll begin ascending from Cuello Gordo a cota (2,200 m). From there, we’ll head to the Goriz refuge. On the way to the summit, we’ll enjoy the views of Lago Helado (3,000 m).

El Perdiguero is one of the most emblematic ascents in the Pyrenees. We’ll leave Benasque early in the morning, following a path to the Cabaña del Llosero. At this point, we’ll gradually leave the woods behind and follow the rocky path up to L’Amorriadó. As we gain more elevation, we’ll traverse an exposed section which leads to the Ibonet de Lliterola (2,390 m). From there, we’ll continue onwards to the Collado de Ubago (2,712 m). Our final ascent will lead us to the Fita de Perdiguero and onward to our final summit: El Perdiguero.

Are you up for the challenge? If so, I’d be honored to be your guide on this “triple summit” adventure in the Pyrenees.

If you are looking for a shorter but equally intense program in the Pyrenees,  I recommend this Pico Posets, 1-day “Express” ascent.

About the guide

guide profile img

I started climbing when I was a teenager and have been in love with the mountains ever since. As I walked down from the Mont Blanc summit, I decided that I wanted to be a mountain guide.

I live in Benasque, a wonderful mountain village in the Pyrenees. It is the Spanish Chamonix. You have many different mountain activities to do here, with challenges for all levels.

I am mountain leader with UIMLA certification by the Mountain School of Benasque. I am member of the AEGM (Association of Spanish Mountain Guides).

I started guiding in 2007 and have been in the Pyrenees, Alps, Andes, Himalayas, Caucasus, etc.

There is no such thing as zero risk in mountain activities but I can assure you that your safety will be my top priority. Hire a mountain professional with experience and qualifications.

Would you like to climb the summit you have always wanted? Do you want to climb that mountain with a qualified professional who will focus on your safety?

Relax, enjoy the climbing and make your dreams come true! I´ll take care of the rest.
