Description

Down by the southern shores of France the high-rise limestone cliffs present superior opportunities for rock climbing.

Come to the rugged territory that surrounds the southern commune of Avignon, a medieval urban area that rests on the banks of the Rhone river.

The region offers a quality palette of climbs from conquering exposed ridges to via ferrata climbs, in gorgeous settings of scrubland, white limestone rock and vineyards.

If we zoom into the region we can see clearer the destinations. The Luberon area is a protected nature park and UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, packed with pants and wildlife. Its peaks are excellent for rock climbing.

The Dentelles de Montmirail mountain range stands in the region of Province, with its jagged shaped peaks providing a dramatic landscape. The lower section of slopes is carpeted with vineyards in the Rhone Valley.

The commune of Cavaillon lies within the park and provides fantastic via ferrata climbing.

Other options include the picturesque Venasque village that is settled on the summit of an outcrop that is ideal to climb.

The Chaine des Alpilles mountain range lies approximately 12 miles (20km) from Avignon, dramatically rising from the Rhone valley and home to impressive scenery.

Or climb the high cliffs that surround the commune of Buoux, as well as its medieval fort, whose ruins date back to the 13th century.

With my knowledge of the stunning southern French mountains, we can create the perfect rock climbing itinerary to suit your specific wants and desires.
