Very close to the enchanting towns of Dijon and Beaune in France, lies a fantastic rock climbing location: Bourgogne.

Bourgogne is an area in France famous for its production of mustard and wine. But it guards a fantastic secret, its superb rock climbing spots.

Here, you’ll find amazing single pitch rock climbs, ranging in size and difficulty level. Also, you’ll encounter over 50 different crags and hundreds of intriguing routes. Most of the crags are limestone, with variations in their nature, some pocketed, some feeling like sandstone and others with sharp edges. But, you’ll also find some granite walls, like the ones in Vieux-Chateau. So, there are options for every type of climber.

Another great feature about this incredible place is its locations. As it is near not only Dijon and Beaune, but also other charming french towns like Avallon. Thus, making it very easy to get to.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice.
