Join us on this exhilarating 2-day limestone adventure on the cliffs of the Jurassic Coast and enjoy rock climbing in Portland with an experienced instructor that will help you improve your skills and take you to the best spots in the region for you to put them to practice.
The Isle of Portland is located to the south of England in Dorset and is part of the Jurassic Coast, a world heritage site famous for its pristine nature and beauty. Along the coast of this beautiful island are amazing limestone cliffs, perfect for rock climbing adventurers like you!
On this 2-day program, we will set out to discover the best climbing spots in Dorset as we work on improving our rock climbing skills. After a day out on the steep limestone cliffs, we will enjoy a friendly pint at a pub and then set off for some more rock climbing the next day. Some of the aspects of climbing that we will practice and work on include:
Belaying (depending on experience)
Equipment: harness, helmet, ropes, belay devices & rock shoes
Climbing movement & techniques
Tying into the rope
Climbing safety
Climbing etiquette

Keep in mind that although you don’t need to be an expert, this 2-day program is intended for climbers with some previous experience. We recommend that you can climb grade F4+ routes to join. Of course, we will be there to help and guide you every step of the way and we will also adapt the itinerary to suit your needs.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
