Description

There are a number of little surprises worth seeing and exploring within the enormous Mont Blanc massif. And of those many surprises, the Roi du Siam is definitely a highlight.

The Roi du Siam is a large monolith of pure granite that comes out of the south face of the Petit Capucin. Rising from the Geant glacier at a height of 3,300 metres, the Petit Capucin is right next to the Grand Capucin (3,838m).

Surrounded by those amazing peaks and glaciers, the Roi du Siam is a granite pillar that rises like a prize for people looking for a different experience in the Alps. There are nine wonderful pitches during the 300 metre vertical climb. .

The trip will begin at the Skyway cable car, where we will make our way to the Punta Helbronner (3,462m). From there, you will get to enjoy some amazing panoramic views. Afterwards, we will make our way way across the glacier until we reach the Petit Capucin. From there, we will start climbing up the Roi du Siam’s beautiful 9 pitches, most likely by the Lifting du Roi route. Afterwards, we will make our way back the same way we came.

This climb is challenging, so participants should have some previous rock climbing experience. Also, participants should be in good physical condition as well.

The Roi du Siam is a fantastic, hidden highlight of the majestic Mont Blanc Massif. And it would be my pleasure to guide you to the top of it, so you can enjoy some incredible views, while also indulging in a thrilling rock climbing experience. Send me a request if you want to join me.

We did a 1 day Ferrata with Marica. We've both never climbed a Ferrata before but we are both good hikers. We enjoyed our trip very much and you don't need to be a climber. Marica took good care of us and she is very informative with the local geography and history. We felt very safe with her. If you are traveling near the Dolomite and want to try something a bit out of your comfort zone, I highly recommend doing a ferrata especially with Marica. We did both ferrata ra gusela nuvolau and ferrata-averau. It took us about 6 hours.
