    The Selvaggio Blu hike is an amazing trekking tour along the sea in the Italian island of Sardinia.

    Today I want to invite you to a trekking route that combines Mediterranean brush, limestone lands, peaks of all heights and of course, a stunning blue ocean on your side. That’s why the name of this Selvaggio Blu hike, means “wild blue”.

    Besides, I can mention many other highlights of Sardinia:

    If you want to know more about the day-by-day of this Selvaggio Blu hike, please find below the complete itinerary:

    DAY 1

    Our starting point will be at the Cagliari Airport. From there, we will be taken to a lodge in Santa Maria Navarrese, where we can spend the afternoon visiting the city. We will dinner and rest in the hotel.

    DAY 2

    Our trek starts! We will hike up to Pedralonga for 2 hours. Once in there we will be in the first monolith rising from the sea. After lunch, we continue moving North until we are finally in the Duspiggius. We’ll set up our camp and spend the night in there.

    DAY 3

    During the third day of hike we will walk by a path that lead us through limestone pavements. We will reach Monte Ginnirco and then, we keep walking on rocky passages with the help of fixed ropes.

    By the end of the day, we will set up our camp in Portu Pedrosu, an amazing bay surrounded by colorful fjords.

    DAY 4

    Today we have the objective to get to Punta Salinas through a dense forest slopes. Once in Punta Salinas you won’t believe such amazing viewpoint of all the bay and the Cala Goloritzè creek. We will spend the night in Ovile Irbididossili, enjoying a delicious local meal.

    DAY 5

    We will hike by a rocky outcrop that will take us to the sea. Thanks to rappelling we will be finally in our destination of the day, the hillside of Ololbissi.

    DAY 6

    During our sixth day we keep hiking intensively in order to get to the Sa Nurca gorge. Then, we will descend by a rope to Briola and Orrònnoro forests. By the end of the day, we will be on the coast in Cala Sisine. We will set up the camp, enjoy a seafood dish and sleep.

    DAY 7

    We will leave the beach and the woods behind and get to the flatland of Sa Sedda Eranu. We continue hiking down among a valley until we are in Cata Luna.

    A last swimming can be enjoyed once we finish this amazing trek in one of the perfect beaches of Sardinia. Then, we will be taken back to Santa Maria Navarrese by boat. We will dinner and rest in there.

    DAY 8

    Once we enjoy a nice and deserved breakfast, we will move to the airport by a private car. From there, you can take a flight or boat depending your next destination.

    I was disappointed. I was slower than the rest of the group reaching Tete Rousse, and the guide discouraged me from going to Gouter. I had a slight ankle sprain the day before which slowed my ascent. I recovered 95% the day after. My complaint: when I decided to go for a second guided attempt, at a slower pace, I received no help in securing a guide, or a reservation at Gouter. The online reservation showed fully booked both for Rousse and Gouter. But I know that there were lots of empty bunks at Rousse, and I suspect the same at Gouter. I received sympathy, but only as a formality. Initially I had sought a single dedicated guide, but I was encouraged to join a group. I did not get a choice.I should have known better, I knew my pace would be a bit slower, but I counted on your support and understanding. I got neither. I was on my own with no help.
