Sierra Nevada is an amazing estrato-volcano with an altitude of 2.554 meters above the sea level. It is located in the Andean foothills of La Frontera, near the Llaima volcano, in the region of Araucania, Chile.
The volcano of Sierra Nevada is part of the Conguillío National Park, very famous thanks to its Araucaria forests.
In this 2-day mountaineering trip in Sierra Nevada I propose you the following itinerary:
Before the departure we should check our equipment
DAY 1: ASCENT TO THE EDGE OF SIERRA NEVADA
In the morning, about 9 am, we meet in our office and will drive in direction to Malalcahuello in order to approach Sierra Nevada. Once in there, we will put our backpacks on and start the hike for the following 3 or 4 hours.
We will walk among the Araucaria forest until we get up to a wide edge where we set up our camp.
DAY 2: ASCENT TO SIERRA NEVADA SUMMIT
Once I am sure weather conditions are ok, we’ll do a summit attempt. From the summit you can take pictures of one of the most beautiful landscapes of Araucania. Time to disarm the camp, descend and return to Pucon.
As you can see, it is a challenging climbing experience ideal for those mountaineers with previous experience and some technical knowledge.
It will be an unforgettable trip and I will be happy of doing it with you. All you have to do is contacting me so that we can plan your next trip to Serra Nevada Volcano in the always nice country of Chile.
