Description

I invite you to join me on a once-in-a-lifetime ski touring experience in Siberia, Russia! Come and enjoy an unforgettable 11-day trip, skiing down impressive mountains on amazing powder!

The image of Siberia is often associated with vast areas and flat steppes, where the land is frozen for much of the year, and yet when we go down to the border with Kazakhstan and Mongolia we find the spectacular Altai Massif, with beautiufl pre-massif deep valleys.

At the heart of these valleys we find small villages with wooden houses. In early winter the snow falls heavily in this remote region. It can snow more than a meter of snow in 24 hours.

During our stay we will be staying in small wooden huts around Novokuzntsk, in south-western Siberia. This will be our base to explore these majestic mountains. This trip allows you to combine a unique ski touring experience with the discovery of Siberia.

I will take you to enjoy amazing powder on some of the most beautiful snow in the world. Bear in mind you need a good fitness level to join this trip. The snow is deep here. It is recommended being able to kick turn. Our daily altitude difference will be between 800 and 1200 meters. But the mountains are vast, it will always be possible to ski an additional slope!

Winters are harsh in Siberia, very cold, with significant snowfalls.  January is the coldest month. In April the temperatures rise a little, but the conditions we encounter are still winter. In most of the country there are only two great seasons: winter and summer; spring and fall have usually a very short duration and the transition from the hottest temperatures to the coldest temperatures is extremely rapid.

I am experienced IFMGA-certified mountain guide, but during our stay we will also enjoy the assistance of a local provider, who is particularly knowleadgable in ski touring logistics in this area.

So what are you waiting for? Check the date below and book your trip! We will spend an amazing time skiing in the wonderful terrain of the Siberian mountains. If you are looking for other unique ski touring experiences world-wide, check out my profile page!
