Description

Sapporo is the capital of the Hokkaido prefecture. However, the large city is much more than that. It is a cultural center, and a unique, beautiful representation of northern Japan. It is also a great place for winter activities. A fact well supported by the city’s hosting of the 1972 winter Olympics. It is also home to the Sapporo Snow Festival, which draws nearly 2 million people every year. As a result of the city’s renowned winter reputation, it is also home to several fantastic skiing spots. And on this half day trip, I would like to join you at one of those spots for some great skiing.

I am a freeride world qualifier skier, and the eleventh ranked skier in Japan, and that position came as a result of a lot of practice and experience. And it is that experience I would like to share with you on this half-day trip. However, I am not an instructor or guide. So the purpose of this trip is more about enjoying the slopes with a professional then receiving a lesson. But you can see which runs I choose and why. And then you can join me on those runs and watch the manner which I go down them. I will also gladly provide you with tips whenever the opportunity arises.

A great skiing opportunity in a great skiing place, this half-day trip in the Sapporo area is the perfect addition to a vacation you may be taking in Hokkaido. So send me a request. All you have to be is a minimum intermediate level skier to participate. I look forward to skiing with you.

Please note that you will need to sign a liability waiver prior to the beginning of the trip. Also, for safety and liability reasons, we will stay within ski resort boundaries at all times.

I was born, raised and currently live in the city of Sapporo in Hokkaido, Japan. I grew up skiing and consider both the local Kokusai Ski Resort, as well as Keystone Ski Resort in Colorado, USA, as my home base. Nowadays, I am a Freeride World Tour qualifier who is currently ranked eleventh in Japan.

In addition to competing nationally and internationally, I am also a professional photographer. I am proud to say my work has been featured in numerous magazines and catalogues.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice.
