I want to invite you to an Alpine Climbing introduction course in the Swiss Alps.
During this 6-day alpine climbing introduction course you will explore more technical terrains than in any other course. And this is because my group will not exceed 3 people. You can enjoy personalized lessons!
My alpine climbing introduction course is designed for climbers looking to improve their skills on snow, ice and rocky surfaces. And the Swiss Alps are the best place for it!
Although having previous mountaineering and climbing experience will help, don’t worry. I will guide you in your first basic alpine steps.
This alpine climbing introduction course will prepare you to climb with autonomy on peaks with different difficulties. And, of course, it will be a useful training for harder routes in the future.
Besides, the classes will prepare you for an advanced alpine course (1 week long). I can add this course as well and plan a 2-week learning trip.
The itinerary will be adapted to the group skills and expectations. Please find below an estimate itinerary of the program.
We will do some training on Moiry Glacier. I will teach you crampons, ice climbing and crevasse rescue techniques. We will sleep at the Moiry Hut.
Today we will climb up to Pointe de Mourti to practice some glacier skills. Then we will go back to Evolène.
During these 2 days we will first hike to the Dix Hut. From there we’ll start a new climb to Mont Blanc de Cheilon at 3869 meters. You’ll also have the opportunity to reach the Pigne d’Arolla.
It’s time to learn other important techniques such as valley rock climbing, prusiking and belaying. A ride to Saas Grund by car will lead us to the Weissmies Hut. And a new climb awaits, this time the Lagginhorn.
The cost per person for this 6-day alpine climbing introduction course is £1275. You should take into account that costs of huts and cable cars are not included. Estimate CHF 240 more (approx. £188).
Please note that our Alpine Climbing introduction course is also available as a 4-day program. Its price is £825. The estimated hut and cable car costs are CHF 150 (approx. £117). You can find the itinerary for this course below.
Arrival at Evolène. In the evening we will meet, check the equipment and have dinner.
We will hike to the Dix Hut through the ladders of Pas de Chèvres. We will follow a short rocky ridge route to climb. I will teach you some techniques of snow crafting and rope working.
During the third day we will go up to 3790 meters to Pigne d’Arolla. You will learn how to use crampons and many other ice climbing, rescuing and glacier skills. We’ll spend the night at the Vignette hut.
Today we will ascend to L’Évêque and then go back to Arolla by the Vignettes pass.
Feel free to get in touch with me if you want to join this alpine climbing course. It will be a really unforgettable mountain experience!
