  • Enjoy 5 days of fantastic ski touring at the Talus Lodge in British Columbia.

  • Spend time learning about avalanche skills during a AST2 course.

  • Admire the beauty of the incredible Canadian Rockies.

For 5 wonderful days, I would like to guide you on a ski touring trip at the Talus Lodge. In addition to the ski touring, you will also get to learn a great deal during an AST2 avalanche skills training seminar.

Located in the Canadian Rockies, near the border between British Columbia and Alberta, the Talus Lodge is right in the middle of the majestic mountain range. And for 5 days, you will get to ski tour on several amazing slopes in those mountains that will provide you with astounding views every moment.

Your trip will begin with an exciting helicopter ride to the Talus lodge. After that, you will settle into your comfortable lodging. From there, In the mornings and evenings, we will be learning about avalanche skills in a classroom environment. While you’re skiing, you will learn right on the slopes, as we will cover terrain choices, route planning and other important topics. Finally, on the last day of the trip, you will enjoy a half-day of ski touring, followed by another helicopter ride back to your original pick up point.

In order to participate on this trip, you should be in good physical condition. It is also important that you can ski at an intermediate level and have AST1 training.

Ski touring in the Rockies of Canada is an amazing experience. It is fun and the scenery is gorgeous. When you accompany that fun with the knowledge gained during the AST2 avalanche course, you gain even more. To enjoy this trip, just send me a request.

My mission is for you to learn the skills to be competent and independent in the backcountry. I will break down complex skill sets into individual building blocks for you to learn progressively and confidently. After learning the skills, you will get to practice them in the backcountry with my guidance or that of one of the ACMG-certified guides in my team.
