I invite you to join me on a ski tour for 1 or more days and discover the most beautiful mountains in Slovakia: the High and Low Tatras and/or the Greater and Small Fatra mountains.
The Tatra range forms the natural border between Slovakia and Poland and it offers great backcountry skiing possibilities.
The Mala Fatra or Small Fatra is another beautiful Slovakian mountain range, in the Western Carpathians. It has an amazing 38 km long main ridge. The Velka Fatra or Greater Fatra range has a main ridge with soft lines and low angle slopes.
The itinerary and the programme of this ski tours is flexible and it will be based on your skill level and on the time you have available. I can adapt the tour to your wishes and to the snow and weather conditions. Also, although you need a good skiing level, you don’t need previous ski touring experience to join me on this tours.
You will discover a very wild setting in this amazing mountains. In fact, one of the things I like the most about guiding in this area is that we barely see anyone here! These mountains are truly an off-the-beaten track skiing spot.
If you choose to come for several days, I can take you on a hut-to-hut ski tour, going over some passes and enjoying some time on great ridges with wonderful descents.
Also, if we set out on a several-day programme we could combine our ski tours with fantastic powder freeride skiing in some of the resorts we pass by along our way, if the conditions are good.
Some of the main spots of my tours may include in the following:
- High Tatras: Small and and Big Cold Valleys, Green Lake Valley (more alpine style ski touring)
- Low Tatras: Kralova Hola, Donovaly (with a combination of alpine ski touring and on forest and hilly terrain)
- Fatra: Borisov, Krivan (also on hilly terrain, with some ski in the forest)
During our tours we may stay in shipper houses or in very old huts, just with our sleeping bags. We also have the option of staying in normal huts with beds, and also with food provided.
So are you in for a unique ski touring experience in Slovakia? Send me a request, book your trip and we will start planning a great skiing tour together!

If you decide to cancel, you’ll get a 100% refund (minus fees) if the cancellation is notified up to 60 days before the start of the tour, a 75% refund (minus fees) if you cancel between 59 and 30 days before the start of the tour, and a 50% refund if you cancel between 29 and 21 days before the start of the tour. If you cancel less than 21 days before the first day of the tour, you won’t receive a refund. Take into account, however, that if accommodation, flights or transfers were included in the trip you booked, then a different policy may apply as the guide will be bound by the provider’s cancellation policy.
What happens if the guide cancels the trip because of bad weather/unsuitable conditions?
If bad weather or unsuitable conditions force the guide to cancel the trip, he or she will: a) propose a similar activity at a different place where conditions are better, or b) propose to postpone the activity until a later date, or c) cancel. If you refuse option a), our cancellation policy will apply. Please note, however, that the call to cancel a trip due to bad weather can only be made by the guide (not the client).
What happens if the guide doesn’t show up or cancels for personal reasons?
If the guide cancels for reason of injury or other, you will get a 100% refund on your trip.
About the Guide
I'm an IFMGA-certified mountain guide based in Proprad, Slovakia, at the foot of the High Tatras. I'm also married and the father of 3 children.
I'll be happy to take you ski touring, rock climbing and mountaineering in these beautiful mountains. I also work as a mountain rescuer in this area, so I know it like the back of my hand.
Join me and I'll show you the best spots in the Tatras! Going on a journey with me is not only about reaching summits or ski down the best slopes of the Tatras but it also about experiencing the Slovak culture which I'm very proud of. I'll be glad to share with you about our history, our people, our tradition...
