Description

The Old Man of Stoer is an awesome climb that you do not want to miss. Join me as we journey to the top of this mighty sea stack and enjoy the stunning landscape of the Northwest of Scotland.

We'll do this climb over two days so that we don't have to rush. Plus, if the weather gets in the way (which it can do in this part of the world), we'll have a buffer.

Our adventure will begin with a Tyrolean rope traverse across the water to the sea stack. This is just the start and it is great fun.

Once we're back on land we'll begin our climb which we'll split into 4 pitches. If we have to add more for whatever reason, we will. As we climb you'll be able to enjoy the ocean views and take in the varied forms of wildlife. In this area, you'll find Guillemots, Arctic fulmars, seals, whales, and even Basking sharks.

When we reach the top of the stack, we'll take some time for photos before abseiling down to the bottom.

The sea stack is an impressive 60 meters tall and the original route climb is graded at VS 5a or hard severe. So, to tackle it, you should have experience lead climbing or seconding to at least a VS standard.

Don't hesitate, get in touch today to book your ultimate Old Man of Stoer climbing experience.

And, while you're here, be sure to check out my climbing trip to the Old Man of Hoy.
