Let me invite you to this great 10K tour of Imlil. A fun half-day adventure, running among the most outstanding places of this village in the High Atlas.
The trail running tour of Imlil consists of an easy route which works perfectly as a warm-up or introduction to a harder challenge. The trail will take us around the 4 towns in this amazing valley.
Our starting point will be the main bridge in the centre of Imlili. During the first 15 minutes we will run uphill to the Ait Souka village. On the way, you have to pay attention to the road since there is no footpath. After that, the road will take us steeply uphill until we reach a small plateau. The wonderful forest up there will provide a challenge. We’ll be running on the hills right above Imlil valley.
The trail then heads down into Aroumd with its narrow streets, but once we get to the mosque tower you will be fine. From here, we must cross a river and follow a 4×4 track until we reach an ancient an irrigation channel surrounded by walnut trees. We follow the channel and end up in Mzik, another amazing village of Imlil.
Finally, we will join another 4×4 track and run along it until we reach the center of Imlil. Here, a refreshing drink or a “Tajín” will be waiting for us!
*Note: if you are looking for a shorter road (7k instead of 10k), I can offer you a shortcut. We can go directly down to Imlil before turning up into Mzik.
I can take with me a maximum of 12 people in this trail running Tour of Imlil.
