Description

At 2,864 m., Triglav is the highest mountain in Slovenia and of the Julian Alps. It is located on the border between Austria and Italy and is one of Slovenia’s emblems. On these private guided climbing tours, you will be able to explore this breathtaking peak via the route that we choose together.

The easiest climbing route up to Triglav’s summit is via the Krma valley. It involves a 2000 meter climb and a 400 meter via ferrata. Otherwise, those who prefer a harder ascent can join me on a route that starts at the Vrata valley and involves a 2000 meter climb and a via ferrata of about 1500 meters.  A third option is to explore a scenic route that will take us through the seven lakes. This is the longest of the three alternatives but the scenery is worth it.

Although climbing Triglav can be done in a day, I always suggest to all my clients and friends to take at least two days to enjoy a safe and great climbing experience. There are also multi-day climbing options.

You may also be interested in a 2 or 3-day tour with a larger group of friends. In that case, I can offer you this climbing program in Triglav.

I have no doubts that you’ll love these climbing options to the top of Mount Triglav. Contact me now if you want to book your place or if you’re planning to come to Slovenia next summer!

Mountain Guide

I am a IFMGA certified mountain guide, ski instructor, and sports teacher.

I believe guides do their best job when they guide in the mountains they are most familiar with. That is one of the biggest reasons why I specialize in guiding in Slovenia. I climb Triglav more than 25 times per year, which means I have climbed the most famous peak in my country around 400 times.

If you want to climb or ski in the Slovenian mountains, I am the right choice. I guide via ferrata, rock climbing, snow climbing, ice climbing, hikes, freeride skiing, and ski touring. Most of my summer work involves climbing Triglav, and most of my winter work involves Triglav and ski touring around it.

Slovenia offers good options for all of these activities, so you are welcome to take a look at my trips and find something for yourself. If you don't find anything, let me know, and I will see if I can help you!

I speak English. Ich spreche auch ein bisschen Deutsch. Parlo anche un po' di Italiano e hablo también un poco de Español.

If I am not available to guide you, one of the super experienced guides in my team will be your guide.

I find it a bit awkward that all correspondence goes through a third party as it is less efficient. Once I had a guide’s email it all went smoothly

To be frank we didn't really got what we wanted. We got Igor as a guide but he acted more of a babysitter rather than a true guide for us. The climb up to Triglav is not safe and we wanted a guide to ease the planning bc we didn't have enough time to prepare, and maximize safety while keeping our wishes in focus. We are not the easiest folks to guide as we are used to do stuff on our own. The guide does a good job if your only concern is safety and you're willing to blind trust people and not asking questions. He will drag you to the top and back. One big mistake he did, he never asked what we expected he never gave directions, or explanations, we only got to follow instructions and got short answers when we asked. We needed to challenge him at the end to get what we wanted and then he wasn't happy about it. We understand why, but we needed something else than we got until that point. The other thing is that we had an unfriendly guide in a hurry on the way down from the hut, day2. For us that hike would have been better without him. When it's said he did everything he was expected to do by himself fine (apart from day2), nice service at the hut and otherwise.

Our guide Luka did an amazing job! He was calm, confident and experienced. His support helped us achieve a brilliant climb up Triglav. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

We climbed Triglav mountain with our kids of 11 and 14 years old. Our guide turned out to be Blaz and this couldn't have been better. Such as nice normal guy with so much experience. It was fun with him, lots of info and it felt really safe so we could relax and enjoy the climb and descent. Explore -share was a good way to get in contact with the professionals we needed on this trip.
