I invite you to join me for 6 days of Via Ferrata in the Dolomites, around Cortina d’Ampezzo.

Two worlds meet in this vertical universe. The alpinist looks for dihedrals, chimneys and other facets. The hiker progresses on ladders and cables along the via ferratas.

Here, everyone experiences this wall landscape in their own way. You will feel the harshness of the rocks that so far were reserved for experienced climbers. The via ferratas were created for military purposes early last century. Nowadays, they are a way to discover verticality.

Are you a group of friends or a family? Personalize one of my tours and leave together! Contact me to build together this great adventure. My trips are “homemade”, easily adaptable.

These are some highlights of the via ferrata of the Dolomites:

  • Historic walls for mountaineering and climbing.
  • Breathtaking views of the famous Tre Cime Di Lavaredo
  • Discovery of local heritage, charm of the Italian welcome in the refuges
  • A lightweight bag the entire trip because we take the van each day
  • Easy access: Oulx-Cesana station (direct TGV line Paris-Milan), transfer arrival and return with my van
  • No stress: we use my van to travel during the trip

I propose to you the following program for this week in the Dolomites.

Day 1 – The Via Bianchi
The amazing old Passo Staumies cablecar allows us to reach the Lorenzi refuge (2932 m). After dropping our bags at the refuge, we will climb the Cristallo (3154 m) by the Bianchi via ferrata. In this way, we quickly dive into the local atmosphere.
Altitude change +220m / -220m

Day 2 – The Via Dibona
Overlooking Cortina d’Ampezzo, the Cristallo wall and its Via Dibona allow us to discover an incredible historic and natural environment. A steep descent from a breach will take us to the Passo Tre Croci. Then, a short transfer takes us to the Lavaredo refuge (2350 m), facing the famous Tre cime di Lavaredo.
Altitude change +100m / -850m

Day 3 – Monte Paterno to Tre Cime di Lavaredo
Elected World Heritage site, the Tre Cime massif is impressive. It has 3 unique walls that look “Patagonian”. Here the greatest pages in the history of climbing were unfolded, as well as those of the Great War. Monte Paterno has unique views and a history lesson. The day ends in the comfortable Auronzo refuge.
Altitude change +500m / -500m

Day 4 – The via Bonacossa
From the refuge, its a balcony way and we go through two passes (with some nice equipped passages) that lead us to the Misurina lake. The “Via Bonacossa” will allow us to admire the southern sides of the Tre Cime.
Van transfer to the Passo Falzarego, then cablecar to the Lagazuoi refuge with an exceptional panorama.
Altitude change +150m/-800m

Day 5 – The Via de Alpini
We descend into the incredible network of galleries, to imagine what the Italian military could live and feel in 1915. In the beautiful setting of the Piccolo Lagazuoi the Italians traces a route that invites respect and admiration. Not to mention the joy of climbing a via ferrata in a splendid rock.
Short van transfer on the Tofane sector to the Pomedes refuge.
Altitude change +550m / -1000m

Day 6 – The Olivieri – Punta Anna (2730 m)
The inescapable via ferrata “Olivieri”, at Punta Anna (2730 m) is a spectacular course of edges. From here there are breathtaking views of the beautiful Cortina and the imposing Tofana di Rozes. An original descent, via ferrata, finally takes us to the Pomedes refuge.
End of tour around 3PM.
Altitude change +550m / -850m

This is an example of via ferrata program in the Dolomites. Weather conditions and the level of the participants may make me modify this plan, or change the order of the itinerary.

Level: under my supervision you will progress on ledges, chimneys and other steep passages… Some of them have been built with ladders and cables, allowing you to progress safely. Some mountaineering notions are welcome. You need to not be afraid of heights.

We will walk 6-8 hours per day. The average daily altitude change is 900-1000 m. You need to be in good physical shape.

I invite you to contact me if you are interested in this beautiful adventure in the Dolomites. I would be glad to guide you there and make you live a unique experience!
