Today I would like to invite you to a climbing program in the Viejo Chillan Volcano, which takes 3 to 4 days. For the first day we must drive from Santiago de Chile to the beautiful city of Chillán, where the volcano is located.
This incredible mountain lies in the middle of the interesting peaks of the Ñuble landscape. From the Viejo Chillan summit we can discover the most spectacular views of the surrounding volcanoes, such as the Nevado de Chillán, Descabezado Grande, Descabezado Chico and Longaví. It will also be possible to appreciate the entire Argentinian Cordillera del Viento, with the imposing Domuyo Volcano as background and an even more distant scene of the majestic Sierra Velluda.
The ascent to Viejo Chillan does not imply technical difficulties although it’ll be necessary to have a good fitness condition. Keep in mind that we must ascend 3186 meters above sea level. This program is available all year round.
So if you want to make your reservation please send your request now. It’ll be a honor for me to be your guide on this unforgettable mountain ascent in South Chile!

UIAGM/IFMGA Mountain Guide from Chile
Mountain guide and instructor from the Chilean Andinism Federation (FEACH) and certified Wilderness First Responder.
I’ve opened several climbing routes in Chile, and was one of the first and very few Chileans to summit Cerro Torre, Fitz Roy, Paine Grande and Torres del Paine.
I climbed almost all the technical mountain in Cajón del Maipo, in Central Chile, and did some of the most important routes in Yosemite, Indian Creek and Patagonia.
And regarding ski mountaineering, I skied down Mount Illimani and Huayna Potosí in Bolivia, and Cerro Castillo, Morado Norte and Sur in Chile.
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
