Lanzarote is the third most populated island of The Canary Islands in the Spanish Atlantic Ocean. It has been considered a Natural Reserve by UNESCO since 1993. Timanfaya National Park is one of the most attractive touristic points of the island and it is included in this amazing trek I am offering you today.
During these 8 days you will also discover a perfect combination of stunning landscapes, desolated places and urban life with local people, traditional food and an unique coastal road.
For more details of this walking through Lanzarote, I give you the following itinerary.
DAY 1: ARRIVAL
When you arrive at the airport a transfer will take you to the accommodation. Depending on your arrival time, we can do a 3-hour trek around Barranco de Tenegǘime or we can visit the Jardin de Cactus and Mirador del Rio. Dinner.
DAY 2: THE NORTH
During this day we will walk for 3h 30′ around a fascinating landscape full of surprises: two coasts, a volcano called La Corona with its lavas and crater and La Graciosa Island seen from a high cliff. We can also enjoy volcanic lands and seabirds. Then, we will visit the magical piece known as “Jameos del Agua”, an artistic intervention created from a series of natural jameos inside a volcanic tunnel produced by the eruption of La Corona Volcano. Dinner.
DAY 3: LA GRACIOSA ISLAND
We will sail from Órzola, in the north of Lanzarote, to the port of Caleta del Sebo in La Graciosa Island, where our trek starts. We will walk among dunes, lonely beaches and lava fields. During the trail we will admire volcanic and coastal vegetation and we will swim and picnic. By the end of the day we will return to Lanzarote and have dinner.
DAY 4: VOLCANOES
In our fourth day we will enjoy an unique walk that will take us about 3 hours. In the route we will continue getting surprised with such a volcanic land, its extinct craters, shapes and colors. We will picnicking around colonizing plants in extreme conditions. Finally, we will visit the Visitor Center of Timanfaya and El Golfo. Dinner.
DAY 5: FUERTEVENTURA
We will be taken southern to Playa Blanca where we will take the Ferry in order to get to Corralejo in Fuerteventura. We will cross The Dunas National Park following the magnificent coastal road. Then, we will get to Montaña de Tindaya and after that, we will visit The Ecomuseo. Once we have lunch and visit the old town of Betancuria, we can swim in one of the most wonderful beaches of the Canary Islands. Late in the afternoon we cross again to Lanzarote. Dinner.
DAY 6: LA GERIA
It will be a 4-hour walking day across the central crest. We will have to climb to the old Guardilama Volcano to enjoy a panoramic view of the South and Center of Lanzarote. Then, we will descend to La Geria, a vineyard that grows on volcanic ash thanks it is protected from the wind with a little wall. We will have the opportunity of picnicking in a wine cellar and then visiting the ancient capital of the island, Teguise. Time for a swim and finally, dinner.
DAY 7: RISCO DE FAMARA
During this trekking day (5 hours walk) we will find continually changing landscapes and we will enjoy amazing sea views over the west coast. After a great picnic you will have the afternoon free, ending the day with a delicious dinner.
DAY 8: ENDING POINT
According to your flight, we may visit the Fundación César Manrique. Transfer to the Airport and final of our services.
