The Xinantecatl volcano or Nevado de Toluca is a huge and majestic volcano that rises in the localities of Calimaya, Zinacantepec, Tenango del Valle and Villa Guerrero. It is located 43 kilometers southwest of Toluca. We will access through the Toluca-Sultepec road, passing the town of Raices where we will take a detour in direction to the volcano.

I am happy to invite you to climb the Xinantecatl volcano on an intense and unforgettable hiking day through incredible native forests and trails that finally lead to the high crater of the summit, where we will visit its two beautiful lagoons.

On the way to this beautiful and attractive volcano, we will also walk through the protected area of ​​Nevado de Toluca, which is another way to name the Xinantecatl volcano.

We will climb a total of 4640 meters to the summit. It will take us about 8 walking hours. Therefore it is advisable to have a good physical condition. Previous experience is not required.
