FAQs: Andorra

What should I know about Andorra?

Nestled into the Pyrenees Mountains and wedged in between Spain and France, Andorra is a tiny European microstate with a proud history of independence and outdoor sport. The country has a long tradition of ski mountaineering, which is by far the most popular sport.

Getting to Andorra can be a bit tricky, but is well worth the effort. The airport that services the country is actually located in Spain and, due to its short runway, doesn’t offer many flights. However, you can get there via a connection in Madrid or Marseille. Another option would be to rent a car from either Barcelona or Toulouse.

Spending a week or two in Andorra would be the ideal time frame. This gives you plenty of time to see the capital as well as explore the small country’s immense and beautiful mountains.
