FAQs: Norway

What should I know about Norway?

Norway is the northernmost of the three Scandinavian countries. Its mountain peaks, glaciers and deep fjords, as well as its midnight sun and Northern Lights, have made it a dream destination for outdoor lovers around the world. Oslo, its capital, has a lively cultural scene and lots of green spaces to enjoy, if you visit during the summer months.

Why should I choose Norway for my adventure?

The incredible scenery

The mountains, the sea, the fjords and even the Northern Lights await in this incredible country full of unforgettable sights. Norway is hands-down one of the most beautiful places on Earth.

The chance to ski from summit to sea

Have you ever climbed to the top of a mountain to then ski down and almost touch the sea with your skis? Have you kayaked from peak to peak? All this is possible in Norway.

Savalbard and its arctic wildlife

Halfway between mainland Norway and the North Pole, this archipelago is home to Arctic foxes, Svalbard reindeer and even polar bears! One of the northernmost inhabited areas on Earth.

What can I expect from the weather in Norway?

Thanks to a warming northern current, Norway is not as cold as Siberia or Alaska, even though they lie at the same latitude. During the summer, temperatures can reach 25℃, even in the north. If you are visiting in winter, brace for the cold!

How can I get to Norway?

Oslo’s Gardermoen airport is the main international point of entry to the country. However, several low cost airlines offer alternatives from the main European cities to secondary airports in Oslo.

Uloya is a trip of a lifetime. You find surreal beauty, natural elements at their chore where sea, mountains and skies confound, and shared passion from the hosts. Our guide Pavel was super professional and friendly. Artur, the main host loves to share his passion for nature, sport and good food. Explore Share was top class as they integrated our demand for an outdoor expedition very well and drafted out this incredible option very quickly. Easy access for follow up made us feel just good. Go for it.

Frederik is an excellent guide! He was confident, reassuring, professional, safe and very skilled. My boyfriend and I are still enthralled with the experience. Thank you so much again, Northern Norway has captured my heart and I definitely will be returning for more adventures :)

Magnus was simply the best guide we could have hoped for! A fantastically experienced, safe and fun person to successfully take us up the summit of this incredible mountain. He was also incredibly kind in helping to facilitate me proposing to my girlfriend (now fiancé) on the summit and to safely bring us back down to earth again, for which we’re both very grateful! The climb itself was a truly memorable and wonderful one. Though physically arduous and exposed at times, it was totally worth it for the magnificent views and with Magnus, there wasn’t a single moment where we felt at risk. Huge thanks for a perfect trip!

We had a really great time with Fredrik you was very knowledgeable and helpful and also very flexible. We can definitely recommend going on tour with him. The only small citicism (which is really too strong a word here) is that it would be nice to receive more info planned tour in more detail beforehand, but most likely we would just have needed to ask more directly. Definitely a thumbs up from us!
