Situé à Huiliches, près de la ville de Junín de los Andes, à la frontière entre l'Argentine et le Chili, le Lanin est le plus haut volcan de Patagonie. Ses 3776 mètres d'altitude et sa forme de cône parfait peint en blanc par la neige, donnent le nom au célèbre parc national Lanin (Argentine) et au parc national Villarrica (Chili). Le volcan Lanin est un symbole de la province de Neuquén, dont la figure fait partie de l'écusson provincial. En outre, il est considéré comme un site sacré pour les communautés mapuches, peuple indigène de la région. Son ascension par la face nord est relativement simple. Cet itinéraire part du lac Tromen jusqu'au col Mamuil Malal. L'ascension peut se faire en une journée si les participants ont une bonne condition physique. Gardez à l'esprit que l'accès au sommet prend environ 7 heures, tout comme la descente. Pour ceux qui préfèrent une ascension plus douce et plus tranquille, il est possible de passer la nuit dans un refuge en montagne et de faire l'ascension du Lanin en deux jours. My rating for the winter ascent of Lanin volcano is 10/10 in every possible aspect. Luis organized perfectly well the whole ascent and assembled a great team of guides (Ramiro, Gabriel and Jonathan) who came with him to the mountain. The day before we met in San Martin to check the equipment, and on day one after the hike up to the refuge, we went over the techniques and gear needed for the summit day (self-arrest, avalanche safety equipment, etc.). Summit day is demanding, but exceptional! The views from the summit include Villarica, Llaima and Copahue volcanoes to the north, and Tronador, Puntiagudo and Osorno to the south. Booking through Explore-Share was very smooth and easy, the customer service is the best!

Luis es un guía absolutamente maravilloso, con un conocimiento de la montaña superlativo que nos dio seguridad y permitió disfrutar incluso con condiciones climáticas difíciles.
