Would you like to discover the stunning landscapes of the Ismailli District near Baku in Azerbaijan? Then join me on this thrilling day hike to the beautiful Garanohur Lake!
The Garanohur Lake is located in a mountainous area of the İsmailli district at 1,540 meters above sea level. This beautiful lake is surrounded by breathtaking forests and mountains that make it an ideal destination for a hiking adventure.
On this 1-day trip, we will drive from Baku to Talistan village where we will begin our hike. We will hike for 1.5 – 2 hours along a river, and then enjoy a 1-hour ascent until we reach the lake. Once we reach the lake, we will stop for lunch and a break before returning via the Diyalli – Guyum route to the Diyalli valley. Finally, we will drive back to Baku.
Keep in mind that this trip is open to all participants. We will hike a total of 6km and you won’t need any special preparation to enjoy this trek. Of course, we will be there to help and guide you every step of the way.

My name is Elvin Sadikhov, I am a member of the Azerbaijan Mountanairing Association and the Azerbaijan National Mountain Guide Association. I have a diploma and a certificate as an alpine guide and I am an author of the standard on marking trails in Azerbaijan. I research, make projects and mark trails. From time to time, I try to develop this section in our country.
Since 2010 I guide trekking and hiking tours to the Magnificient Caucasus Mountains, as well as cultural tours in all regions of Azerbaijan.
I will be your host and guide in my country with great pleasure, which is located in South Caucasus on the crossroad of Europe and Asia and filled with snowy mountains, alpine meadows and unique forests.
