Itinerary

Day 1: Teresópolis - Dois Bicos - Refúgio das Águas

We meet in the morning for the transfer to Parque Estadual dos Três Picos. After a brief preparation, we head toward Pedra dos Dois Bicos, located in Vale das Sebastianas, near Cachoeira dos Frades. Access is through Fazenda Quinta do Pinhal. The trail to the summit is considered moderate, with an average ascent time of 1h30 to 2h30. The route covers approximately 3.5 km, with a strong incline in the final section and around 420 meters of accumulated elevation gain. At the summit of Bico Maior (1,520 m), we are rewarded with panoramic views of Vale dos Frades and the surrounding mountains. After enjoying the view, we descend toward Refúgio das Águas, with a stop for lunch at a traditional local restaurant (not included). At the end of the day, we arrive at the refuge, where artisanal pizzas prepared on site are served for dinner. Overnight at Refúgio das Águas.Dinner included.

Day 2: Vale dos Deuses - Vale dos Frades

On the second day, we leave the refuge and prepare our backpacks to begin one of the most classic and scenic traverses inside Parque Estadual dos Três Picos. The route passes through Vale dos Deuses and toward Vale dos Frades, crossing mountain landscapes known for their dramatic granite formations. We head toward the iconic Caixa de Fósforos, also known by some as Pedra dos Milagres due to its unique and unlikely rock formation. The trail also passes by the Mirante da Cabeça do Dragão. At Caixa de Fósforos, those who wish may ascend to its base for privileged views of Vale dos Deuses, Vale dos Frades, and the peaks of Nova Friburgo. We continue descending toward Vale dos Frades, a valley often compared by some visitors to Yosemite in certain perspectives. The day ends at a new refuge, where we are welcomed with dinner and the opportunity to relax near a waterfall. Overnight in a mountain refuge. Breakfast and dinner are included.

Day 3: Cachoeira dos Frades - Teresópolis

On the final day of the expedition, we travel by car to Cachoeira dos Frades, our last stop. With a 10-meter waterfall drop, it forms a large natural pool surrounded by vegetation and the mountains of the park, creating a unique and impressive setting. After enjoying the waterfall, we depart toward Teresópolis, marking the end of the expedition.

Tour Operator

The year 2010 marked the beginning of a journey of creation of Nattrip, our company. Accessibility to ecotourism and adventure tourism was restricted, especially in Rio de Janeiro. There were still severe restrictions of public use to the existing Conservation Units, which went some way against what the world was experiencing. While other countries created policies to increase protected area visitation in an attempt to increase preservation, using the “understand to protect” approach, Brazil believed that prohibiting access was the best way to protect.

Thanks to the work of some conservation, tourism and sports entities, as well as some spheres of public power, this premise has gradually changed, giving space to a greater offer of experiences in the natural environment. We understand that people, whether tourists or residents, needed tours and specialized services to practice the activities that these places provide. This is to promote a healthy life and generate environmental knowledge by insertion into the environment, creating a basis for environmental sustainability, responsibility, mutual conviviality, and protection.

That’s when we decided to create a company specialized in the eco-adventure segment, which could promote the sector with responsibility. A way of entertainment that creates environmental education by osmosis. However, the mission of Nattrip was beyond just being a company that provides nature and adventure tours.

We design the company’s performance in all aspects of tourism in Brazil, aiming to be a company of national reference, which can translate into quality assurance. Today Nattrip is one of the main agencies and operators of receptive tourism in Rio de Janeiro, a respected adventure operator in Brazil and has been showing all its power in the corporate, educational and travel segments.

“Protect by enjoying and understanding, never forbidding!”
