Mountain Guide
Hi, I’m Vojta, welcome to our profile! We are a small and specialized guiding company based out of the Czech Republic, dedicated to offering freeriding and ski-touring trips mainly to Japan and Norway. We run powder camps and tours across the islands of Hokkaido and Honshu in Japan. In March every year, we move to arctic Norway and run Ski and Sail expeditions around Lyngen Alps. We started as a group of friends guiding in Japan in 2013 and we still beleive you should feel like you are riding with friends on our trips. The tours are flexible with the single purpose of skiing in the best snow and finding the best lines possible. We have strong area knowledge of the terrain and go the extra mile to provide you with an unforgettable experience. Our trips not only include skiing, but also delicious food and local culture as you improve your skills as a backcountry skier or snowboarder.
On our trips, you will be guided by Czech and Slovak UIAGM Mountain guides & Ski Guides (Robert Vrlák, Peter Koteles, Daniel Menšík, Vojta Lím, or Tomáš Prajzler)
If you don't find what you are looking for, get in touch, we will be happy to help and welcome you on board!

Skiing in Japan is a must for any avid skier. Sherpas ride company is very serious and to be trusted. Sherpas ride support was great with sensible advice from from beginning to end, great logistics and accommodation. A special mention to the guide Tomas, great professional, very serious, who went above and beyond to give all the best ski experience as well as japanese immersion.

We had an amazing skiing experience with Sherpas Ride! Our road trip started with a few fresh snow days in Kutchan, offering a wonderful mix of backcountry and resort skiing. We reached the summits of Iwaonupuri, Shiribetsu, and Annupuri—truly unforgettable adventures! Our accommodation in Kutchan, conveniently located near a Seven-Eleven, provided easy access to Onigiris for our tours. The place was clean and spacious, though we did notice the lack of hangers. Thor from Sherpas Rides breakfasts were a real highlight, featuring delicious mini pancakes, homemade granola and yogurt—a perfect start to our skiing days. On one of our evenings we got a presentation from a Japanese women about Japan and Hokkaido. After four days, we continued on to Furano. Along the way, we visited the harbor city of Otaru. It was quite cold and there was not that much to explore. In Furano, we enjoyed another 3.5 days of incredible backcountry skiing. One highlight was our visit to the fumaroles near the Asahidake summit—absolutely stunning! Unfortunately, the visibility that day didn’t allow us to reach the summit, but the experience was still remarkable. Our accommodation in Furano was a lovely Japanese-style hotel. Throughout the journey, we always felt safe and well taken care of with our guide, Peter. He consistently found us the best powder! Our group was joined in Kutchan from Jara a professional Photographer for two days who made stunning skiing pictures, we could buy by the end of the trip. We only brought our skiing boots from home to Japan and Sherpas ride provided quite nice and new Kästle Skis! Sherpas Ride delivered an exceptional experience, and we’d highly recommend them to anyone looking for an unforgettable skiing adventure.
