Highlights

  • Enjoy the stunning scenery of the Stubai Alps

  • Conquer three of the iconic 7 Summits in the Alpine subrange.

  • Take in the local mountain culture when you aren't hiking.

Situated on Austria’s southern border with Italy, the 7 Summits of the Stubai Alps are a worthy and worthwhile challenge for any avid trekker!

Over the course of our five days together, we will summit three of the seven peaks, including Wilder Freiger (3.418 meters), Zuckerhutl (3.507 meters), and Habicht (3.277 meters).

Once you have reached the top of each one, you will receive a commemorative stamp. Check out Part I of the 7 Summits challenge in order to conquer the other four peaks on another trip. Once you have gotten all seven stamps, you will receive a trophy from us!

However, the journey is half the fun, probably more. Along the way to the 7 Summits, we will hike through some gorgeous mountain scenery, scramble over rockier sections and even get the chance to traverse a glacier with an ice axe and crampons.

In the evenings, as well as on the one rest day, enjoy the authentic mountain culture of these quaint Austrian villages, including two mountain huts. Sample the food and drink as well as take in the overall ambience with the Stubai Alps serving as the perfect backdrop to all of your activities.

For a detailed look at what we will do each day, please see the  itinerary below. Please note that the order in which we hike the peaks may change depending on the weather.

So what are you waiting for? Book now for this challenging yet rewarding 5-day hiking trip to three of the 7 Summits in the Stubai Alps!

Itinerary

  • Day 1 to 2Wilder Freiger

First up on our tour will be Wilder Freiger. This formidable peak rises from the main ridge line straight above the Italian-Austrian border. The peak takes two days to summit with an overnight stay in a mountain hut. We will hike, scramble and cross a glacier on the way to the top.

  • Day 3Rest day

Rest your legs for the next two summits and enjoy the local mountain culture.

  • Day 4Zuckerhutl

In site of being the tallest of the 7 Summits, Zuckerhutl is considered among the more modest and will not be too difficult to tackle in one day. We start with a gondola ride up on to the Stubai glacier. We will then hike across the glacier up to the summit before descending back down to the valley floor.

  • Day 5 to 6Habicht

The final peak of the trip will also be a challenging one. Over the course of one or maybe two days (depending on weather conditions) we will climb up the massive Habicht before returning back to the valley floor.

About the Guide

I love the mountains and the mountain culture. After nearly 15 years of climbing, trekking and snow boarding all over the world. I can honestly say I am at home in the mountains.

In 2012, I set up a company to share this passion with others. We offer unique trips to amazing locations and are the only British company to offer trips such as our "Stubai7Summits" or "Polish Scrambling week".
