Easily accessible rock climbing in Hong Kong at Beacon Hill (All levels)

Beacon Hill is one spot which offers confidence to beginners given its high-quality granite crag, easily accessible routes and a stunning view of the city of Kowloon. And, on this trip, we will explore a few of the many available climbing routes in the area.

Located on the east side of Lion Rock Country Park, the hill is one of the most popular climbing spots in Hong Kong. The access to the hill and the routes are comparatively easy, making it an excellent spot especially for those who are just starting out with their outdoor climbing journey. Also, since the routes here are of varying difficulty, even the seasoned climbers do not have to worry.

On the trip, we will choose from the Main Crag also know as the Upper Crag and, the Upper Left Craglet. Both of these crags provide several excellent routes which cater to climbers of all skill types.

We will begin the trip in the morning by gathering at the Shek Kip Mei Station. From there, we will take a taxi to Lung Yan Road and hike towards the climbing site.

Upon arrival, you will see a safety demonstration before you start to climb. And, off you go!

The vistas of Kowloon city will become clearer as you rise. Also, there is ample tree-covered area for resting, making the hill a preferred location by many climbers. You will climb for a couple of hours before taking a lunch break. Post-lunch, you will continue to climb until you finish your selected route.

Be prepared to witness beautiful vistas all along. We will come down by evening and depart for Shep Kip Mei Station to end this incredible trip.
