Description
Take part of this half-day tour around the East Valley in Madeira and explore the steep terrains of the island on a mountain bike.
Situated in the North Atlantic, the Portuguese archipelago of Madeira is a wonderful place to enjoy sportive activities, such as hiking and mountain biking, and to explore different natural environments.
If you follow me on this tour, we’ll enjoy riding across some of the best spots of the island. For instance, we’ll cross Pico do Arieiro, the third tallest peak in Madeira. Also, we’ll explore several beautiful areas, such as Vale de Paraiso, Poiso, Camacha and Santo da Serra, surrounded by incredible natural settings.
This tour can be arranged for any day of the week from 9 am to 1 pm. It’s an easy program where we’ll cover a distance of 20 kilometers with our bikes.

We did the 3-peak hike to Pico Ruivo. Filipe was a wonderful guide. Friendly, knowledgeable and with deep passion and respect for the island and its wildlife, which was very touching. We learnt quite a bit about the fauna and flora and we got to feel really connected to the nature around us. The hike was challenging at times, lots of steep steps, although the majority of the path is paved, so very easy to navigate. Filipe was considerate of people's different abilities and there was an option to go on an easier walk if preferred. We were rewarded with such dramatic views. We were quite lucky with the weather too! We really enjoyed our day and it was a lovely introduction to the fauna and flora of the island. Thanks Filipe!

Just a superb half-day, from start to finish. All the arrangements and timings were spot on. Our guide Felipe was outstanding and very knowledegable; something we found extremely helpful as first time visitors to Madeira. Even on the journey out to the Levada, we learned so much from him about the history of Madeira and local landmarks. We would definitely take another walk or a tour, when we return, although we may not be as lucky to get Felipe again as our guide the next time around.
