Description

The Sorteny Natural Park hosts a cerulean lake and an impressive peak that is worth your visit. In winter, the beauty of the area heightens and offers a wide range of activities to enjoy, such as snowshoeing.

This tour goes through the park and finishes at the Estany de l’Estanyó lake, an amazing water reservoir at the foot of the Pic de l’Estanyó mountain (2,915m), the third highest in Andorra. To get there, we will traverse frozen pine forests, snowy subalpine meadows and feathery paths leading towards the lake.

On our return, we will stop at the Borda-Refugio de Sorteny hut, a comfy place that offers all kind of services to relax and rest a bit.

It will take us between 6 and 7 hours to make 8,5 km. We suggest you to wear mountain boots with low, medium or high cane, and warm and waterproof clothing. Also, its advisable to bring water and light food. Please, keep in mind that we do not admit participants with flat shoes or sneakers or any other footwear that doesn't cover the ankles.

The tour hour was short for half day. We had expected longer one, though. So, maybe you should indicate 2.5 hours in your information. However, we really enjoyed the tour, and the tour guide Jordi was really nice person. He knows well about the mountain & the nature in Madriu valley. He taught us a lot of things.
