Description

Join us on this 4-day hike and discover New Zealand’s magnificent Southern Alps. This program will take you on a 58-km itinerary across the spectacular Gillespie Pass (1600m) in eastern Mt Aspiring National Park!

Gillespie Pass connects the Young Valley with the Siberia and Wilkin valleys. It is very popular among hikers because you’ll find huts along the way. A jetboat or helicopter ride is also available to reach Wilkin pass on the last day.

We will meet in Wanaka and, from there, a short drive will leave us at the starting point of our 4-day hike. During our trek, we’ll travel through pristine alpine bush and we will also enjoy some stunning views of the Southern Alps. We’ll also have the chance to do a side trip to the spectacular Lake Crucible, one of the most scenic in New Zealand.

You need to have a good fitness level to join us on this beautiful hike. We will be walking for around 6-8 hours per day on sometimes steep terrain. Please note that we do not run scheduled group trips for this trek.
