Of the many Hong Kong rock climbing sites, Lion Rock ranks the best without a doubt. This iconic 495 m rock offers jaw-dropping views of the cityscape, taking our sight as far as Victoria Harbor. Join us, as we take on this majestic rock on our day trip.
Symbolic of solidarity and an undying spirit of the people of Hong Kong, the Lion Rock became popular in the ’80s after a pop song featured it. Since then, it has gained popularity worldwide as an outstanding climbing destination.
It has an excellent environment for a multi-pitch climb and is considered one of the most challenging rocks in the city. Several routes of moderate to high difficulty level are available including Gweilo, Prelude, Unemployment Line or Reunion II. Most of these are 5- pitch routes which test you both physically and mentally. So, it is best to have a fit body and previous climbing experience before scaling this one.
Our climb will take us via the west face of Lion Rock Crag. This face provides spectacular vistas of the Kowloon City.
We will begin in Kowloon. From there, we’ll head towards the Lion Rock Garden and start an hour-long hike to the climbing site. Once there, a brief about the skill and safety measures follows. And you are all set to conquer!
We’ll continue to climb gradually to reach the top. It will be both daunting and thrilling to see sweeping views of the city from such great a height!
After enjoying your time, you will descend, having ticked-off one item from your bucket list.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland.
