I will guide you on this peaceful, tranquil and idyllic half-day day of kayaking through the mangroves on Lac Bay in Bonaire, a truly astonishing and special place containing vast tracts of mangrove forests, incredible coral formations and a wide array of stunning and gorgeous flora and fauna such as turtles, all in the paradise-like setting of the Caribbean Sea.
Bonaire is a municipality of the Netherlands located in the South Caribbean Sea, just off the coast of Venezuela. It is known for its rich biodiversity, with lizards, donkeys, birds and turtles calling it home, and for being a popular snorkeling and scuba diving destination.
Our adventure starts when we meet in Kralendijk, from where we head to Lac Bay, and before we head off paddling we will dispense all relevant safety gear and information.
We then begin our kayaking, and from the get-go we are exposed to the raw natural beauty of the island and its coastline, with the gentle and serene vibe a constant of the trip as we paddle through the pretty mangroves and explore the many lagoons and channels around us.
There will be ample opportunity to admire the scenery, and hopefully we will encounter some of the beautiful flora and fauna of the region, with lucky people coming across the turtles that live here!
After several hours of gently discovering the nooks and crannies of the mangroves, we then head back to our starting point, where our trip ends, hopefully having given you a taste of the amazing beauty this Caribbean oasis is known for.
This is the funnest possible way to discover the best of Bonaire – book now to experience!
