Description

On this thrilling 5-day Macedonia freeride cat and ski touring program, you will access the best ski lines and mountains in North Macedonia, perfect your skills, and enjoy an overall exhilarating winter adventures.

Everyday, we will use the cat to access remote, high up places in the Sharr Mountains, where we will enjoy putting our ski touring skills to practice. We will explore the off-piste terrains around Popova Shapka, and stay in a hotel with direct access to the ski slopes.

Furthermore, on this adventure, we will also have the chance to learn avalanche and big mountains safety skills, as well as work on our ski technique. You will be coached and guided, and there will be a video analysis to complement what we learn on our days out on the slopes.

Some of the topics we will broach upon include:

  • Group dynamics in an avalanche

  • Basic outdoor risks

  • Safety for big mountain riding

  • Planning and assessing your day in the mountains

In order to join this tour, you will need to be confident skiing on black slopes and have some off-piste, ski touring experience. Additionally, you will need to have basic avalanche training. Also, keep in mind that this is a physically intense tour. The minimum age to join is 15 years old.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge.
