Come and join us for an unforgettable day of mountain biking through La Carbonera wax palm forest near Salento!
After meeting up, we will drive up into the Cordillera Central and gear up. We will then proceed to bike around 10 kilometers through the world’s largest palm forest.
There will be plenty of opportunities to stop and take photos as we go. Be sure to bring extra batteries for that camera as there are endlessly beautiful scenes of forests and mountains here.
We may even have the chance to see some of the rare wildlife that calls this part of South America home, including the incredibly rare yellow eared parrot. Our local guide will be able to tell you all about the area’s ecology as well as some fantastic stories about local wildlife.
After we’ve had our fill of the forest, which boasts more than a million palm trees some of which grow to be more than 70 meters tall, we will begin the roughly 30 kilometer ride back to Salento.
If this sounds too intense for you, don’t worry, it’s not. The way back down to Salento is entirely downhill, so all you need to do is keep your balance and enjoy the ride back into civilization.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice.
