Mt Viso is located in Italy in the border with France and it’s known for being the highest mountain of the Cottian Alps. It has 3841 meters high and it is popular because its pyramid shape.
I propose a 6-day program during while we will discover some exciting skiing spots. Beside this, we will have the opportunity to explore the amazing Queyras valley and the local culture throughout the picturesque villages we’ll traverse.
Mt Viso is a great option if you are a mountain lover… Why? Here are some reasons that will make you decide to do it:
- Firstly, we will discover incredible ski touring spots, with different difficulty’s level;
- Further, during the trip we will rest in comfortable and warm refuges with a delicious Italian gastronomy;
- It’s a great time to discover an explore the amazing Italian culture, in a really beautiful setting;
- At least, I bring all my knowledge and experience to help you to live an unforgettable adventure.
Skiers/snowboarders that want to join me in this tour must have an excellent physical condition. Additionally, it’s necessary to have prior experience skiing in varied terrains.

Meeting. Then, transfer to Saint Verán and refuge
Meeting at the Oulx-Cesana, Briançon or Montdauphin-Guillestre train station. Transfer by minibus to Saint Verán in Queyras valley.
We take the lifts of Saint Verán reaching to Chateau Renard peak. Afterwards, descent to Clausis chapel.
Night at the Blanche refuge.
Move from Blanche refuge to Bagnour refuge
Easy climb to Caramantran peak (3025m) from where we descend to Chianale village in Varaita valley.
Transfer by taxi to Castello village. Later, we ascend the valley through a cembro forest to Bagnour refuge.
Night at the refuge.
Transfer from Bagnour refuge to Pian Melze village
Traverse throughout the Giargiatte valley, we move to the Chiaffredo Pass. Descent to Gallarino Pass and then to Quintino Sella refuge. Lastly, we descent to Pian Melze, a picturesque Piedmontese village.
Night in the village in a refuge inn.
Transfer from Pian Melze to Villar Pellice
Traverse to De Gianna Pass and from there to Punta Sea Bianca summit. Beautiful descent through the valley to Pautas bridge in Pellice valley. Transfer to the small village of Villar Pellice.
Night at a hotel.
Transfer from Villar Pellice refuge to Jervis refuge
Transfer to Villanova and climb to Jervis refuge.
Then, we continue towards Punta Barant for enjoy some interesting skiing spots.
Last day of the trip and return to home
The last stage of the trip will take us to Lacroix Croce Pass from where we start the ascent to Praroussin.
Later, descent to the french side to Echalp. Transfer to Mont Dauphin by mini bus.
Return to home.
