Itinerary

Day 1: Plitvice Lakes National Park

You will be picked up at the Zagreb or Rijeka Airport. After a short introduction, you will be transferred to a small 3-star hotel near Plitvice Lakes where you will meet the other participants and go over a trip briefing with your guide.

After a delicious welcome dinner, you can go for a walk in the beautiful Lika region surroundings.

Day 2: Plitvice Lakes National Park

The Plitvice Lakes National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the most famous National Park in Croatia. Karst stone landscapes, 16 lakes, waterfalls, and small caves are part of the stunning wilderness of this area.

Your guide will choose the best route for the group, which may include hiking up the mountain, and a boat tour across one of the lakes. Enjoy a mixed day of hiking, taking pictures, and lunch at a park restaurant. Then return to the hotel and relax.

Day 3: Upper Mreznica Canyon Kayaking

After breakfast, we will drive to the base camp at the Mreznica River, you will receive safety gear, go over safety measures, and then we will set off on the adventure.

The excursion, which combines kayaking and canyoning, will take 4-6 hours. You will have the chance to safely ride down waterfalls, jump from cliffs, go down natural water slides, or hike around them, all depending on your comfort level.

On our way back, we may visit Rastoke, which is also full of creeks and waterfalls.

Day 4: Zadar excursion and transfer to Northern Dalmatia

After breakfast, we will explore Zadar, a beautiful ancient Roman city. We will enjoy lunch at a good restaurant and admire the Mediterranean harbor before driving to the hotel located on the ocean beach.

For the rest of the day, you can enjoy swimming, participate in some of the activities offered at the hotel, relax, and taste Dalmatian food specialties.

Day 5: Zrmanja River by bike

We will set off to discover the Zrmanja canyon, with its beautiful turquoise river down in the rocky canyon.

We will take some small and easy cycling roads with short climbs until we arrive in a little village at the banks of the Zrmanja, with a great swimming area below some stunning falls. After cooling down, we will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

Cycling enthusiasts can arrange to return to the hotel via the high route. Otherwise, we will drive our minivan to a small memorial museum of the Winnetou movie production, with more beaches nearby.

Day 6: Rab Island Sea Kayaking

After breakfast, we will drive up the coastal highway and take a ferry to Rab island. From there, we will find our launching spot near the city of Rab. After going over safety aspects and instructions, we will set off on our single or double kayaks.

Some easy paddling will take us around the island‘s inlets and points until we reach secluded and picturesque bays. We will take time to explore, stop for lunch at a restaurant, and continue exploring, swimming, and relaxing on the beach. Finally, when the day is done, we will return to the hotel.

Day 7: Paklenica National Park

On our last full day of adventure, we will head to the Velika Paklenica.

An hour of simple uphill hiking along the gorgeous river will lead us to Manita Cave, where we will discover stunning underground formations and maybe some fauna (it is the habitat of 52 different species of invertebrates)! After, we will continue hiking to the Dom Paklenica hut, our lunch spot.

From there, we can either take an easy route back or continue climbing up to one of the mountains in the park. Back at the hotel, we go over the wonderful week we have shared together.

Day 8: Farewell

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
