Description

Orienteering is key to enjoy any activity in the mountains. Follow me on a unique experience in the Urbasa Range, Spain where I’ll teach you how to orient yourself with a compass and a map.

On this unique experience, I’ll teach you the following concepts:

  • Theoretical aspects of cartography and compass.

  • Practice of directions.

  • Exiting the mountain with group members taking care of the guidance.

  • Bivouac techniques: sleeping in the open.

  • What equipment to take to the mountains.

You’ll need to bring warm clothes, hiking boots, flashlight, water and snacks, cellphone, compass, pencil and ruler.

Our learning experience will take place in the beautiful Urbasa Range, in the northwest of Navarra. This impressive mountain range forms, together with the Andia mountain-range, the Urbasa and Andia Natural Park, a stunning park covered in beech forests. The park offers several activities for outdoor enthusiasts and dazzling sightseeing spots.

So send your request and learn all about orienting yourself in the mountain. After this, you’ll be ready to tackle any adventure.

If you are looking for more adventures in Spain, make sure to check out the trips I offer for a hiking half-day to the caverns in the Urkiola Natural Park and a canyoning and walking weekend in Aínsa.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
