Welcome to one of the most exciting activities in the Catalan Pyrenees. A full day climb to the top of the South Besiberri!

The Besiberri is a massif located in Alta Ribagorza in the province of Lérida, Spain. This time I’d like to invite you to ascend the South Besiberri peak. It is in the Boi Valley, inside the Aigüestortes-San Mauricio National Park.

This region of the Catalan Pyrenees has the biggest amount of canyons and gorges. Many of them exceed 200 meters in height. It’s a really nice area with incredible vertical landscapes.

In addition, the Boi Valley also has 9 ancient churches. All of them were declared UNESCO World Heritage. Undoubtedly, this place is a very interesting destination. Not only for its outdoor activities options but also for its history and culture.

Regarding the ascent itself, it will be a high mountain climb reaching an elevation of 1500 meters. One of the most outstanding features of this one-day program is the variety of landscapes that you will admire while ascending. Beginning with beech forests, passing through green meadows and glacial lakes to finally end with high mountain terrains.

The adventure will take us about 9 intense but truly unforgettable hours. And once at the South Besiberri’s top you’ll enjoy the most magnificent panoramic view of the trip. An incredible scenery of the Aragonese and Catalan Pyrenees as well as the imposing Aneto.

This is just a proposal of the many others the region has for you. There are more interesting mountains for all tastes and difficulty levels, such as: Gran Tuc de Colomers (2933 m), Punta Alta (3014 m), Montardo (2833 m) or Tuc de Carants (2790 m).

Do not hesitate to contact me and join me for this ascent or any other in the Catalan Pyrenees. I can guarantee that you’ll find the perfect climbing itinerary for you and your group!

IFMGA/UIAGM Mountain Guide from Spain

Since a young age I lived surrounded by mountains and walls, out in nature. Mountaineering is part of my life from an early stage.

The search for new horizons and mountains made me discover many exotic destinations. I’ve done climbing and skiing expeditions to the Alps, Turkey, Jordania, Patagonia, Peruvian Andes, the Himalayas (India and Nepal). I’ve also opened new routes, both for rock climbing and for winter alpinism.

I’ve done high performance alpinism awarded by the FEEC (Federació d’Entitats Excursionistes de Catalunya). I was member of the Spanish Alpinism Team, the FEDME, from 2006 to 2008.

I became UIAGM mountain guide and canyoning guide to share my passion with all those who love doing activities in the mountains, either a fun canyon, challenging climbs, or white and lonely ski runs in remote mountains.
