Are the temperatures beginning to creep up, but you’re still yearning for one last splitboarding adventure?
Then join me at the top of the world for a 1-week splitboarding expedition to the Svalbard archipelago this May!
Each day, we will head out onto a different part of the island chain, making some memorable ascents, before combining our board and careening down the still-pristine powder.
Before we make those epic descents, we’ll be sure to take in the scenery of Svalbard, which has an other worldly beauty. Completely devoid of trees, it will only be us, the mountain, the snow and the fjords.
While we’re up there, we’ll be sure to check out Spitsbergen, which is located in the mountainous northwest of the archipelago. Here, we’ll make various 1.000 or so meter ascents, before plunging back down toward the sea.
Since we are based out of a yacht, we will be able to take in a variety of different parts of the archipelago and make up to three ascents and descents each day, weather permitting.
We may even get the chance to see a polar bear while we’re on the archipelago!

Jurgen
I started snowboarding in 1996 and have dedicated my life to this sport since 2005, spending several seasons Down Under and travelling and exploring the mountains in different corners of the world with my snowboard and splitboard.
I became an Austrian State certified Snowboard Guide in 2012. I'm based in Zillertal, Austria, where I guide snowboarding and freeriding tours during the winter. I also organize trips to the Caucasus in Georgia and, for heliboarding, I put together private week-long trips in Romanian Carpathian Mountains.
In The Springtime, I usually guide in one of my favorite areas on planet: the Norwegian Arctic. Splitboarding between the fjords and the Lyngen Alps is a one-of-a-kind experience!

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
